We ask dancers to bring their ballet shoes, pointe shoes, and character shoes. All classes will be held on<strong> February 18 and 19 <\/strong>at the <strong>Joffrey Ballet School<\/strong>: <strong>434 Avenue of the Americas, Manhattan NY<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>TUITION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SINGLE<\/strong> Day In-Person tuition: $180<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DOUBLE<\/strong> Day In-Person tuition: $300<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ZOOM OBSERVATION SINGLE<\/strong> Day tuition: $200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ZOOM OBSERVATION DOUBLE<\/strong> Day tuition: $125<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>EKATERINA SHCHELKANOVA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3><em><strong>Former soloist of Mariinsky Theatre and American Ballet Theatre, graduate of Vaganova Ballet Academy<\/strong><\/em><strong><em>, Director of Elite Training Program<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/EKATERINA-CHTCHELKANOVA-HEADSHOT.jpg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is EKATERINA-CHTCHELKANOVA-HEADSHOT.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Ekaterina Shchelkanova (Chtchelkanova) received her dance training at the<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vaganova_Academy_of_Russian_Ballet\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>&nbsp;Vaganova Ballet Academy<\/strong>.<\/a> Upon graduation, she joined the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mariinsky_Ballet\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Kirov Ballet<\/strong><\/a> (now the <strong>Mariinsky Theatre<\/strong>) as a soloist, where she danced a variety of leading roles in major classical ballets. Ms. Shchelkanova joined&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abt.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Ballet Theatre<\/a><\/strong> in 1995, and as a soloist with the Company, she excelled in a variety of soloist and principal roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/ekaterina-corsaire.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Ekaterina_Don_q-827x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Shchelkanova\u2019s versatility, strong classical training and technical skill in classical and contemporary dance allowed her to work closely with legendary&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Twyla_Tharp\" target=\"_blank\">Twyla Tharp<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sallie_Wilson\" target=\"_blank\">Sallie Wilson<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Neumeier\" target=\"_blank\">John Neumeier<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frederic_Franklin\" target=\"_blank\">Frederik Franklin<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Morris_(choreographer)\" target=\"_blank\">Mark Morris.<\/a> Her amazing training and pure classical line were noticed by such masters as <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gelsey_Kirkland\" target=\"_blank\">Gelsey Kirkland<\/a>,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Natalia_Makarova\" target=\"_blank\">Natalia Makarova<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mikhail_Baryshnikov\" target=\"_blank\">Mikhail Baryshnikov.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2006, Ekaterina accepted a position of Artistic Director at the Berlin International Dance Festival. As a guest, Ekaterina taught classes at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/national.ballet.ca\/Homepage\" target=\"_blank\">the National Ballet of Canada<\/a>&nbsp;and ABT\u2019s JKO School. She joined the&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rwb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Winnipeg Ballet<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;as ballet mistress and since September 2007, held the same position at<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/grandsballets.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal<\/a> until she founded Open World Dance Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/elite-training\/\">Elite Training Program \/ <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/summer-intensive\/\">Summer&nbsp;Intensive<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to offering access to amazing instructors, our training programs also provide an entry point to other Open World Dance Foundation programs \u2013 particularly our&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/elite-training\/\">Elite Training Program<\/a>&nbsp;,&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/summer-intensive\/\" target=\"_blank\">Summer Intensive<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong>performances<\/strong>. All attendees at our Winter Master Classes and Summer Intensive have the opportunity to be considered for year-round, hands-on, elite training and coaching. This program is offered to a maximum of <strong>eight students<\/strong> each year.
