{"id":148,"date":"2018-11-21T14:54:06","date_gmt":"2018-11-21T14:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/owdf3.azurewebsites.net\/?page_id=148"},"modified":"2020-06-01T01:13:17","modified_gmt":"2020-06-01T01:13:17","slug":"exhibits-and-more","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/exhibits-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibits and More"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Baryshnikov Arts Festival &#8211; St Petersburg, Russia &#8211; February 2013<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To celebrate the 65th birthday of our friend, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Mikhail Baryshnikov (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.openworlddancefoundation.org\/index.php\/our-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mikhail Baryshnikov<\/a>, and the 275th anniversary of our school, we found a unique way to honor them both. Working with four great photographers who captured images of Baryshnikov&#8217;s career, we installed these exhibits around St. Petersburg, Russia. Our first opportunity for an event was at the invitation of Mikhail Baryshnikov to hold the first Open World Dance Foundation Gala at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York and to bring four orphans to perform at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gala brought together other dancers and artists who wanted to share their blessings to support our mission. Performers included students from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"American Ballet Theatre's JKO school (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abt.org\/training\/dancer-training\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Ballet Theatre&#8217;s JKO school<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"New York City Ballet (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nycballet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">New York City Ballet<\/a> dancers performing choreography by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Susan Jaffee.
